<p class=”mol-para-with-font”>A former prison inmate has revealed what two notorious wife killers bonded over in jail while serving time together. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>Millionaire businessman John William Chardon, 73, reportedly ‘interacted closely’ with murderer Gerard Baden-Clay, 50, and read his prized leather-bound novels. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>The ex-prisoner said Chardon would buy ‘favours from protector inmates’ including ‘regular food purchases’ at Wolston Correctional Centre in Brisbane‘s southwest. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>Chardon, jailed for 15 years over the manslaughter of his wife Novy Chardon, died of a suspected heart attack on Wednesday, reported. </p><div class=”artSplitter mol-img-group” style=”style”> <div class=”mol-img”> <div class=”image-wrap”>

However, he made a point of saying he would not get caught because there was no body found,’ he said. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>Chardon was convicted of his wife’s manslaughter following a three-week trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court on September 9, 2019. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>Justice Ann Lyons sentenced Chardon to 15 years in prison, with parole eligibility in 2031.</p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>His trial heard he had attempted to hire a Filipino hit man, had numerous affairs and asked his daughter to hide a mysterious box said to contain gun parts and handcuffs. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>The court heard he killed his wife hours after receiving a letter from her divorce lawyer about the custody of their children. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>The body of Allison Baden-Clay was discovered in Kholo Creek Bridge in April 2012 after Baden-Clay reported her missing. </p><div class=”artSplitter mol-img-group” style=”style”> <div class=”mol-img”> <div class=”image-wrap”> </div> <noscript> ![Ms Chardon's (pictured above with the Sydney Harbour Bridge) body has never been found]()
