As Mark Ronson remembers it, his collaboration with Miley Cyrus on "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" was the result of "Mark Ronson stalking Miley Cyrus for four years."
"I got her number; I don't know if it was legal or not," Ronson admitted during the duo's appearance on the Graham Norton Show that aired Friday (Dec. 7). "I started texting her. I just said, 'Hey, if you ever want to make some music' ... four days went by, nothing."
Cyrus interrupted: "This is the part I don't remember. I feel like I must've sent an emoji, at least."
The pair eventually made a connection and "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" came to be -- and, as Cyrus explains, they "wouldn't have it any other way."
"Any time before this would have not been right, and any time after this would have been too far away," she said. "I think it's perfect timing with this song, at the time that it's out in the world."
