A suspect accused of murdering and raping Bulgarian TV journalist, Viktoria Marinova, admitted killing her but says he did not mean to, as he appeared in court for the first time today.
Severin Krasimirov was arrested over the killing of the anti-corruption journalist and made his first appearance in a Bulgarian court.
The 21-year-old was arrested in Germany and extradited to Bulgaria, arriving at Sofia Airport yesterday, to face charges over her death earlier this month.
He sat in the court room in Ruse wearing handcuffs and surrounded by police officers, as he was charged with raping and murdering Ms Marinova.
Investigators said the journalist had been raped, beaten and suffocated with her body left dumped in a park near the Danube river in Ruse on October 6.
